No cottage on the water is complete without a dock. Unfortunately they can be hard to build and it’s important that they are built properly. Luckily Cottage Country Building Supplies is here with the materials and know-how to create your dream dock that will be sturdy for years. We offer many different kinds of docks such as floating, floats with wheels and aluminum-framed leg docks. If transporting the materials of your dock is a problem, take advantage of our delivery service.

Drop by to see these new floats starting May 2012. The 24" wheels are foam filled and the acel is 1-7/8" aluminum. With the wheel built in, there is 575# of flotation per float. Each float has 6 mounting holes and is compatible with aluminum or wood docks.

We make our docks from Cedar lumber or Pressure Treated lumber. For more information about treated lumber, visit our deck page.
We typically do not stain the docks. However, we recommend that you stain the dock at some point to extend the life of the wood, repel the water and prevent it from cracking (checking) due to sun exposure and the wet/dry cycles.
The optional ramps are also reinforced. Our standard size is 3′x12′ for the ramps. We find that any larger ramp is too heavy to lift and can bow.

We carry a quality line of dock hardware. It is powder coated black. This coating is considered superior to galvanizing because it does not scratch. The illustration above shows the new aluminum “Hitch Hinge” which is a great product. View the Hitch Hinge corporate site here.

The standard anchor is 100#. We also sell 155# for larger docks. The Techstar plastic float company also makes a form for filling concrete on the shoreline.
